GREASING OF THE POLES CONTEST 2021 COMMERCIAL FEATURING TRIXIE MINX.
What is the greasing of the poles?
Greasing of the Poles is considered by many to be the French Quarter's official kickoff to Mardi Gras weekend. Royal Sonesta New Orleans originated the ritual of greasing the building's support poles as a practical means to deter overzealous revelers from shimmying up to the coveted balcony space.
ON THE COVER
Where Y'at is New Orleans's popular entertainment magazine that provides the latest news on entertainment, dining, nightlife, and music via a monthly printed edition and every day on online and social.
In February, 2017, Trixie Minx graced the cover of Where Y'at Magazine dressed in Mardi Gras doubloons. The ornate outfit boasted the traditional colors of Mardi Gras in purple, green, and gold, and the additional photos on the inside of the magazine captured the Burlesque Queen enjoying a slice of King Cake in her colorful costume. It just doesn't get more Mardi Gras than that!
